Driving is a privilege and not a right. So why are there so many bad drivers out there?
I am referring to the people who run red lights. Don't even bother stopping at stop signs. Making left hand turns from the right lane. Passing drivers who drive the speed limit while in a no passing area. Like residential areas.
From time to time, I drive a 10,000 pound cargo truck around. I can't tell you how many times I have been cut off or almost hit because other drivers are in too big a hurry.
Basically, slow down. If you are late then you are late. Almost causing accidents are not worth it. And if you got into an accident, then you would be really late for wherever you were headed.
I have found that even if one is weaving in and out, accelerating and braking, tail-gating and so on, one only picks up minutes at the most. You arrive tense inside and that just shortens life. I agree, slow down, plan ahead and if you are late this time - relax. It is now beyond your control so just do the best you can.
